Macias places at state

On January 10th and 11th, Alesia Macias competed in the state congressional debate competition in Austin, Texas. On Tuesday, Macias competed in the first round where she earned a spot as a finalist. After the final round on Wednesday, Alesia tied for sixth place.

TAFE advances to state summit

The AHS TAFE chapter hosted the Region 17 Texas Association of Future Educator’s Conference on November 9, 2016 at the Methodist Church. All of the competing Abernathy students qualified for the Texas Association of Future Educators State Summit, February 17-19, 2016 at the University of Texas at Arlington. Students competed in events such as Impromptu Lesson Planning, Lesson Planning-STEM, Portfolio, Children’s Literature, Exploring Non-Education Careers, and various speaking events. High school students take part in election day

Mrs. Coach Daily had her senior Government students participate in the voting process on Tuesday, November 8. Students who were eligible voters were taken to the Community Center to vote during the presidential election. Mrs. Coach Daily also set up a "mock election" in her room for the student body to place their ballots. The entire student body voted and even received their "I voted!" sticker. The election results will be announced later today.
