About Mr. P
Mr. P has been teaching for the past 10 years, with 7 of those being here proudly at Abernathy HS. Before coming to AHS, he taught in Lubbock ISD and Meadow ISD. He is a proud graduate of Lubbock Christian University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary English Education. He then went on to receive a Master of Education degree from Eastern New Mexico University with a focus in Reading & Literacy. He is a T.E.A. Board Certified Exemplary Teacher and currently teaches English II & English IV courses. Mr. P also sponsors the AHS TAFE organization and coaches the UIL Speech and Copy Editing teams where he has produced several district championships and state qualifiers.
Mr. P is happily married to his best friend, Elizabeth, who is the owner of the Lubbock Sylvan Learning Center, and together they have the most perfect, happy little boy and future Antelope, Wyatt!
