About Mr. P

Hey there, LOPES!!

 

I am Mr. P! I teach English II (Honors & On-Level) and Senior English IV. I also help sponsor the AHS Student Council, serve as Senior Class chair, and coach our UIL Speech and Copy/Editing teams. The 2023-2024 school year marks my 9th year in education, and my 6th here in Abernathy, and let me tell you, you won't find a better school district in Texas!! Prior to my time in Abernathy, I taught in Lubbock ISD and Meadow ISD.

 

I am married to my college sweetheart and very best friend, Elizabeth, who was an elementary teacher for a few years, but now works as a Franchise Partner for Sylvan Learning Center. We have a little boy and future Antelope, Wyatt, whom we welcomed this past April!

 

I am blessed and fortunate to be apart of this great community and awesome school district. Because I am the product of a small town, where I was heavily involved in numerous activities, I come bearing the knowledge and memories that many of my students have, so if there is ever anything I can help you or your child with, please do not hesitate to shoot me an email.
